From time to time, I will share a trick to reduce cost or to make MOAR (more and roar) gay money! Normally with these techniques your millage may vary and sometimes geographical differences may occur with related store policies/management. It is always advised to start small with a trial run before scaling.

Office supply stores, and in particular the one named after an office supply device, can have their deals used and abused for your profit.  And afterward you’ll be telling yourself, “that was easy”.

I will first start with an easy way to save money on postage. The basic steps are buy a discounted form of tender and use the discount to purchase something that is never discounted, like postage. Online has made it very easy to exploit market inefficiencies. First step is to get a discounted resold gift card to the office supply place that begins with an S.  You can get discount giftcards from several websites: Gift Card Granny, Raise, Cardpool, or eBay.  After you get the gift cards you just go to the store and buy stamps paying with the gift cards. Bonus points if you buy forever stamps before a rate hike.

Now for the more expert version: making MOAR gay money off FAR (free after rebate) items in 4 steps. Step 1- Get a discount card as described above. Step 2- Use the discounted cards to buy FAR items. Step 3- Process the rebate as required to receive the funds. The rebate will be for the full value, not what you paid for the gift cards.  Some companies say limit one rebate per year, I have never had the company enforce this restriction. Step 4- To make even more sell the free item on a resale site like Craigslist, Amazon or Ebay at a huge discount to move the product.
